During reading practice the other day:

Me: “Do you know what that word means, ‘pal’? It’s like a friend. Who’s your favorite pal?”

T: “Jonah.”

Me: “Yeah, Jonah is a good pal, isn’t he!”

(A few sentences later)

Me: “Do you know what that word means, ‘glad’? Means like something makes you happy, or you’re really pleased about it. What’s something that makes you glad?”

T: “Coming here.”

Me: “Coming to my house?”

T: “Yes!”

Me: “Aw, bud, that makes me glad, too!”

Busch Gardens in a Home

Arthur was very cantankerous this morning saying, "I don't want any music." I turned on the soundtrack from The Rings of Power and he started to make a really whiney, "Nooooo" but then he stopped and got this really curious look on his face. After a moment, he gave me a wide-eyed look and said, "It sounds like Busch Gardens! It's Busch Gardens in a home!"

Teddy, while eating a bowl of fruit and oatmeal: “Could you feed me? And could you hide the green part (teeny bits of strawberry caps) so I don’t see it in there!”

(I was actually quite proud of him, because he ate the whole bowl even though it contained peaches and blueberries and strawberries with little bits of cap on it, all of which he doesn’t prefer.)
