Porcupine? Pumpkin Pie?

A's version of N's yellow birthday is that for the last couple months he's been talking about how he wants "porky pie" for his birthday...I have no idea where he got this idea because we've never made or had anything like "porky pie", but he gets so excited every time he talks about it 😂

N. is still processing everything with his family’s move to the RV park while their “old house” is being renovated, to be rented during their cross-country expedition RV adventure beginning this summer. (Me too, bud! Me, too.)

This morning—during an early-morning conversation after a sleepover, while his older brothers still slept—N dropped these gems:

N: “I want to go back to my RV.”

Me: “oh yes, bud, you’re going back to your RV in just a few minutes, once your brothers are up. Do you like your RV?”

N: “I like Mama and Dada.” (Presumably having put together that he needed to get to the RV to get to them.)

A few minutes later, out of nowhere:

N: “Mimsy, can you fix my old house?”

Glad

During reading practice the other day:

Me: “Do you know what that word means, ‘pal’? It’s like a friend. Who’s your favorite pal?”

T: “Jonah.”

Me: “Yeah, Jonah is a good pal, isn’t he!”

(A few sentences later)

Me: “Do you know what that word means, ‘glad’? Means like something makes you happy, or you’re really pleased about it. What’s something that makes you glad?”

T: “Coming here.”

Me: “Coming to my house?”

T: “Yes!”

Me: “Aw, bud, that makes me glad, too!”
