Raw Bits

Teddy, while eating a bowl of fruit and oatmeal: “Could you feed me? And could you hide the green part (teeny bits of strawberry caps) so I don’t see it in there!”

(I was actually quite proud of him, because he ate the whole bowl even though it contained peaches and blueberries and strawberries with little bits of cap on it, all of which he doesn’t prefer.)

Teddy, crying hard after a particularly startling trip down a slick metal slide into a giant wet puddle (at the Mountain City park full of old-school “dangerous” play equipment):

Mimsy: “Teddy, are you hurt, or are you sad that you got wet?”

Teddy, wailing dramatically: “I’m sad that I got hurt!”

Then, a moment later, “May I have a popsicle to make me feel better?”
